To get out of a BetMGM casino bonus you've already claimed, you have three choices. You can switch it out for another pending bonus, ask support to remove it, or let it expire. Two of the three cost you the bonus funds and any winnings made with them. The whole thing takes about 15 minutes, most of it spent in live chat. One thing to know first: we found no official BetMGM help page or state regulator document that describes a cancel button for a casino bonus already in your account. So treat the support request below as the method, and get the result in writing.
What you need
-
Your BetMGM login, used from a state where BetMGM Casino is legal
You must be physically in that state (NJ, MI, PA or WV) to use the bonus or work on it, according to [Sportsline's explainer](https://www.sportsline.com/casinos/betmgm-casino-promo-code-explained).
-
The date the bonus was credited
The deposit match has to be wagered within 14 days of being credited. The $25 sign-up credit expires sooner: Sportsline gives 7 days and BettingUSA gives 3.
-
Your current wagering progress, in dollars
This is shown in the Promotions section of your account.
-
A way to save screenshots
You'll want a record of your balance before and after the bonus comes off.
The steps
-
Open the Promotions section
RotoGrinders notes that you can track wagering progress here. You've found the right screen when it shows the bonus, the amount wagered so far and the total required.
-
Work out how much wagering is left
Pokerfuse puts the NJ deposit match at 15x the bonus amount, so a $100 bonus needs $1,500 in bets. Take the total required, subtract what you've wagered, and you have the number you're deciding about.
-
Screenshot your balance
You should have one image that shows your cash balance, your bonus balance and the wagering progress together.
-
If you only want a pause, switch to another pending bonus
Sportsline reports that you can only work on one bonus playthrough at a time, but you can switch between pending bonuses. This is the nearest thing to a pause that the sources describe. They don't say whether the 14-day clock stops while you're switched away, so plan as if it keeps running. To resume, switch back the same way.
-
To cancel, open live chat and ask for the bonus to be forfeited
Ask for exactly this: "Please remove the active casino bonus from my account and confirm what my withdrawable cash balance will be afterward." It has worked when support confirms that figure in the chat.
-
Check your balance after removal
Compare it with your screenshot. The bonus balance should be gone. The cash figure should match what support confirmed.
-
Request your withdrawal
Do this only after the bonus is off. If you withdraw while a bonus is still active, you forfeit the whole bonus and any winnings from it.
What each choice costs
Say you deposited $200 and got a $200 match. At 15x the bonus, that's $3,000 in required wagering. You've bet $900 of it.
| Wagering still required | $2,100 |
|---|---|
| Finish it: what you must still bet | $2,100 within the 14 days |
| Cancel through support: what you lose | the $200 bonus plus any winnings made with it |
| Let it expire: what you lose | the same, removed automatically at expiry |
Cancelling and expiring cost the same in bonus dollars. The difference is timing. Cancelling frees your account now. Waiting for expiry leaves the bonus active until day 14.
When the opt-out goes wrong
Once the bonus is off, your account behaves like a plain cash account again. Next time, you can skip the problem entirely: affiliate guides say the offer applies only if you opt in or enter a code at deposit, so leave the box unchecked if you don't want it. If you're still weighing whether this offer was worth taking, the NJ welcome bonus teardown runs the full numbers.
