Sweepstakes casinos all give free Sweeps Coins (SC) on sign-up, and the headline amounts are close: 1 to 10 SC at most sites. What separates them is the number most lists put in small print - the minimum you have to hold before you can redeem. Free coins you can't redeem are worth nothing, so we rank the offers by one ratio: free SC divided by the redemption minimum.

That ratio is the best chance the free coins alone have of reaching a cashable balance. On any game that returns less than 100%, your expected balance only falls, so a 2.5 SC balance can reach a 75 SC bar at most 2.5/75 of the time - about 3%. The real figure is lower again once the house edge works on it over many spins. The table below does the division for every offer; it is not a prediction for one player, it is a ceiling.

Every operator here excludes some states. Most exclude the states that banned the sweeps model in 2025-2026 - see which states have banned sweepstakes casinos - and each sets its own list on top. Players must be 18 or 21 depending on the site.

The table: free coins against the bar

Free SC, playthrough and minimums as Covers listed them on November 2, 2026, except LuckyLand, from its own Sweeps Rules (July 2026). "Best chance" is free SC divided by the minimum, capped at 100%; where a site has a lower gift-card minimum we use it, since that is the bar you can actually reach.

Site Free on sign-up Playthrough Smallest redemption Best chance from the free coins
Stake.us up to 28 SC on day 1 (incl. daily login) 3x 30 SC about 93% before the 3x, less after
McLuck 7,500 GC + 2.5 SC 1x 10 SC gift card / 75 SC cash 25% (gift card); 3% (cash)
Jackpota 7,500 GC + 2.5 SC 1x 10 SC gift card / 75 SC cash 25% (gift card); 3% (cash)
LuckyLand Slots 7,777 GC + 10 SC 1x 50 SC 20%

FreeSpin 200,000 GC + 20 SC spins at 0.10 1x 100 SC 2%

What the table says. Stake.us is in a different league because its free coins nearly reach its bar on day one; the 3x playthrough is the cost, and on its own games with a 1% to 3% house edge that playthrough (about 84 SC of bets) loses roughly 1 to 3 SC on average. McLuck and Jackpota's 10 SC gift-card minimum is the next best route, and LuckyLand's 10 SC against a 50 SC bar is the best of the cash-only options. The Gold Coin headlines - 100,000, 200,000, 250,000 - tell you nothing: Gold Coins can't be redeemed for anything.

How to raise the odds without buying

The free coins on sign-up are not the only free coins. Sweepstakes law requires a no-purchase way to enter, and every site in the table has one:

  • Daily log-in bonuses. Small, but they add up and they usually reset the coins' expiry clock.
  • Mail-in or online entry requests. LuckyLand gives 5 SC per valid online request; other sites use a postal request with a handwritten card. Each one moves you closer to the bar with no play at all.
  • Social and email giveaways. Irregular and small.

Collecting free coins until you are at or near the redemption minimum, then playing through the required 1x, is the only route where the ratio in the table stops mattering. It is slow. It is also the only way the "no deposit" in no-deposit bonus is fully true.

Before you sign up

  • Read the state list on the sign-up screen, not a review's. States keep acting: Oklahoma and others passed bans this year, and operators update their lists on their own schedules. Our ban tracker has what happens to a balance when your state goes.
  • Check whether the free SC is "bonus SC" with its own playthrough. Crown Coins, for one, asks 3x on free coins and 1x on purchased ones, per a November 2026 comparison.
  • Look at expiry. Most sites expire SC after 60 to 90 days without a log-in, some sooner.
  • Expect an ID check on the first redemption, and that cash goes back to the method you bought with.
  • Don't buy to reach the bar. A purchase never improves your chance of winning, and the first-purchase "bonus SC" usually comes with its own terms.

Questions people ask

By the measure that decides whether you can cash out - free Sweeps Coins against the redemption minimum - Stake.us, whose day-one free coins (up to 28 SC, per Covers on November 2, 2026) nearly reach its 30 SC minimum. McLuck and Jackpota's 10 SC gift-card minimum and LuckyLand's 10 free SC against a 50 SC bar come next.

Yes, but rarely from the sign-up coins alone. Free SC must reach the site's redemption minimum, often 50 to 100 SC, from a start of 1 to 10. The best possible chance is the free coins divided by that minimum, and the house edge pushes the real chance lower.

Usually not: most sites credit the sign-up coins automatically. A code sometimes adds a little on top; it never changes the redemption minimum.

They operate under sweepstakes law in most states, but several banned the model in 2025-2026, including California, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. Our ban tracker lists them; the operator's sign-up screen has the current list for each site.
